A Day in the Life of Pizza
Everybody thinks
that pizza originated in Naples, Italy but it has been around since the
Neolithic age, the Greeks ate pizza even though they did not call it pizza. The
word pizza has been around since 997 AD. Naples was the first city to open a
pizzeria in 1830. Pizza came to the U.S. in the late 19th Century
with the arrival of Italian immigrants. Thirteen percent of the U.S. population
consumes pizza daily. The world's largest pizza was at the Norwood Pick 'n Pay
hypermarket in Johannesburg, South Africa. According to the Guinness Book of
Records the pizza was 122 feet 8 inches in diameter. Pizza is made differently
in Italy than it is in the U.S. Their pizzas tend to be flatter and have less
cheese and more sauce while pizza here is thicker and has more cheese and less
sauce. Now that pizza is here it has made its way into all of our hearts and
stomachs.
Pizza
is something that many people can bond over. If you have a party, order a
pizza. Need something fast but don’t want to leave your house, order a pizza.
Pizza is always there for you even when people aren’t. Pizza can be your best
friend not just your favorite food. There
are so many different kinds and different types of pizzerias. There are really
no bad pizzas except maybe Digiornos, which is frozen pizza. Even some frozen
pizzas are good though. And you can get it made any way you want. If you have
friends that do not like certain kinds of toppings you can always get a half
and half pizza which is very easy to get. You cannot meet a person who has
never had a pizza. They may not like pizza that much but in the U.S. you will
not be able to find someone who has not eaten a pizza in their whole entire life.
Some
people even have stories that come with the bonding of eating pizza. My
grandfather makes pizza for Christmas every year. My grandpa used to make them
for my dad’s birthday but after a while he moved them to Christmas. Everyone
comes over and my grandpa spends a large amount of the day cooking the pizzas
and when he’s done we are able to eat. This makes the Christmas time more
special because my grandpa puts all his love into making our dinner and it is
the best pizza ever. His pizzas are my favorite. He stuffs the crust with
ricotta cheese and then he uses the best tasting cheese, mozzarella. The sauce
he uses is also very good and I am picky when it comes to tomato sauce, which
is why I normally like my pizza with the bare minimum of sauce but the sauce he
uses is great. I keep telling him that he should open his own pizza place but
he’s not a young man anymore and he can’t afford to own a pizza shop. I do
think that business would boom for him though. I have no doubt that if he ever
did he would make lots of money on his pizza. I want everyone to eat it but he
only makes it once a year so it’s very hard.
Pizza
is a universal savior for the world. People can find comfort in it and relax
because pizza is a best friend to everyone. Pizza will always be there for you
no matter what you go through in life and it is comforting for people to know
that they do not need to rely on people for happiness they can rely on other
things, like food, to make them happy. It gives the world some kind of peace
and hopefully people can sleep better at night knowing that something is out
there to make them happy. Even if it is not the healthiest thing to eat you
definitely feel good eating it and that is why many people love pizza and eat
it all the time.
